The aim of the ParaTrans project was twofold. The first objective was to investigate the decision processes present in paraphrase and translation, the two activities which seem fundamental to facilitating human communication. The second aim was to bring the process and product data together by building a corpus of paraphrased and translated texts in order to search for translation universals in texts which are products of the two activities.
The ParaTrans project was carried out at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and was funded by the Polish National Science Centre (UMO – 2012/07/E/HS2/00661).
